Ariane is a writer, researcher and weaver. Her research explores the negative space in and of weaving as a material entity rather than an absence. The study combines conceptual and mechanical insights in order to enable new understandings of weave structures and new geometries to be drawn.

Parallel to her artistic practice, Ariane is an associate editor at JAWS, a peer-reviewed journal that publishes writings from post-graduate students and young researchers in the Art and Hummanities.

Ariane is an enthusiastic contributor to conferences and actively engaged in building research communities in Textile research and beyond.
